Help Us Help Jackson

We want to introduce you to Jackson, a little boy about to turn one. Not long ago, Jackson was found abandoned in a cardboard box outside an office building in Jiangxi. Around his neck was a pendant, and beside him was a bottle and a copy of an echocardiogram that was obviously his. He was extremely thin and had IV marks from some treatments he had received.

Little Jackson was most likely abandoned because his parents couldn’t afford his care. He has two heart defects — a ventrical septal defect (VSD) and non-typical tetralogy of fallot (ToF) — and needs surgery as soon as possible.

One of the most heartbreaking things about Jackson’s story is that separation from his family could possibly have been avoided had they known about LWB’s Unity Fund. The purpose of the Unity Fund is to prevent children from being orphaned by families who cannot afford to pay for medical care. The Unity Fund has changed the lives of many families by allowing them to stay together despite their child’s medical needs.

Jackson is now receiving loving care in the Zhangshu orphanage and is no longer alone. However, he does need $3000 to fully fund his heart surgery. Please visit Jackson’s donation page to help us help this little boy in his fight to get well.

How tragic that his obviously loving parents felt they had to abandon him! Isn’t there some way to get these kids back to their parents after they’ve been healed?

Is there any way to put in the newspapers that he can receive surgery and go home to his family? Good news like that should spread quickly…you could use the pendant as a parent identifier?

We never know the reasons behind abandonment as it is illegal to abandon a child. When the child is healed, his finding ad will be placed in hopes that his parents will come forward.

My thoughts are with this beautiful baby as he awaits this much needed surgery. My charity recently funded a heart operation for a baby in Kenya who also has Down syndrome and it took me a long time to understand how illness can cause a family to abandon thier child. For his family, they have given him the gift of life and I’m sure they thought that this way is best for him.
I hope that anyone out there who sees this beautiful little boy will donate and get him the life saving surgery he needs.
There is nothing that beats the feeling of having saved a life and by donating you have share in this feeling. I know with baby Angela the money was nothing compared to the impact…she now smiles, laughs and babbles and I hope that Jackson will experience what Angela now can.
Please donate and help LBW save his life!
